Skopje sees fifth month of declining figures amid Wizz woes

NEWS FLASH

Skopje Airport handled 308.444 passengers in August, representing a decrease of 2.9% on last year. It comes as a result of Wizz Air’s network and capacity reductions, caused by the grounding of a significant portion of its Airbus A320neo-family fleet. During August, Wizz Air, as the airport's largest airline, decreased its overall capacity at Skopje by 14.3% or 27.330 seats. During the January - August period, Skopje Airport handled 2.000.994 passengers, up 5.1% following a record first quarter, which was unaffected by Wizz Air's fleet issues. In September, Skopje Airport is expected to have returned to growth as Wizz Air temporarily increased its number of flights during the month

I think there is such an opportunity right now for a small airline in MK with a mix of 4 to 6 E190/A320.

Now is difficult I think it was stupid Macedonia established airlines between 1991-2000 when they were not ready for it they should have established an airline around 2010

He is saying at least what he expect is SKP to get Dubai back thats his goal , and OHD to get Istanbul. This days he has meetings with Spanish ambassador and today with Czech , and in both he mentioning his effort of establishing direct flights to those countries. We cannot know nothing while the tender is not finished. Lets wait and see , and hope for the best!
