NEWS FLASH
Croatia Airlines is temporarily reducing frequencies on a select number of routes during the month of February, which is considered the slowest in the aviation industry. Services between Zagreb and Skopje will be reduced from the planned eleven weekly rotations to between six and eight weekly flights from next week until the end of February, before returning to eleven weekly rotations. The reduction will also represent three flights per week less on the same period last year. Operations between the Croatian capital and Brussels will be reduced from the planned eleven weekly to ten weekly until the last week of February, although the modified frequencies will still be up on last year’s eight weekly flights during the same period. The Croatian flag carrier will also reduce services between Zagreb and Munich from the planned fourteen weekly to thirteen weekly flights, matching last year’s frequencies. Further changes remain possible.
Meanwhile, Ryanair is adding extra weekday frequencies in mid-February for the school holidays.
ReplyDeleteFinally Croatian Airlines is getting rid of old inefficient Canadian garbage Q400's, new A220 will make Croatia Airlines profitable and stable company. Mix of a319,320's and Q400 have destroyed Croatia Airlines finances.
Delete@17:14 not being able to fill the Q400 in the low season of course is a very valid to introduce extremely expensive new Aircraft with double capacit *sarcasm off*
DeleteThe A220 was a wrong choice, they need a smaller aircraft like E170/E175 so they will be able to fly to low load destinations and make a profit. LOT is the only airlines which is making a profit atm. (Air Serbia is learning from LOT...

DeleteAnd whose garbage is A220? Mozambiquan? Do you know in which country Montreal is? Are you sure it's current fleet that destroyed OU finances and entire OU, and not incompetence, inertness, political and Mafia influence, crime, corruption, nepotism, mindset stuck in 1950's? And finally, are you aware how stupid your comment is, together with its purpose?
I fear Lufthansa is to blame for the SKP reduction.
ReplyDeleteCould be, I also rather fly LH than OU to Skopje... much better connections.
DeleteYes but as you can see people still using OU from SKP check the 2024 numbers
DeleteIf only OU offered proper waves of flights from ZAG it might improve it's LF
DeleteI think there is decent O&D demand which flies with OU.
DeleteIt was motly used for connections to CDG,Amsterdam and Frankfurt , now only CDD is left from SKP ..
DeleteAnon 15:15 I think the dreadful LF tells another story
Delete15:16 And now Paris is also covered from SKP with W6's BVA and U2's ORY routes.
DeleteBetter than flying with empty planes, ig
ReplyDeleteTrue, same explanation as when other airlines in the region do the same. But in this case it shows poor planning as changes take place from next week. Significant drop from 11 planned to only 6-8 fights to SKP is concerning.
DeleteGive it a rest
DeleteIf the planes are empty in SKP why they send A220 ? They send that plane since Octomber 2024...
DeleteLoad factor on ZAG-SKP-ZAG is 54.6%. Far from full.
Deletehttps://www.exyuaviation.com/2024/12/zagrebs-ex-yu-routes-see-mixed-recovery.html
Thats why they sends Dash,A319-320 and this months A220
DeleteThis is in the system for a long time now...
ReplyDeleteLast week they sent me mail they were moving me to another flight and my flight was scheduled as normal until last week!
DeleteIt is because of the transition they make with the dash planes ,usualy they send mix of dash,319 and 220 to SKP ...
DeleteIt will be funny when they retire Dash!
ReplyDeleteThey have already retired one.
DeleteWhy will it be funny?
DeleteThey already sending A220 to SKP since octomber 2024 , so it is very nice when you see that plane instead the dash :D
Delete@14:55
DeleteIn fact, it was written how they had to disembark a couple of passangers and some of luggage due to A220 takeoff performances from SKP.
Why because of what ?
DeleteOverload probably and probably its the first time that has happend on their flight to or from SKP.
DeleteThey send the A220 since Octomber 2024 , it is so weird , possibly to be overload yes ...
DeleteThey cut flights , but also they send the A220 to SKP :D
ReplyDeleteThe overnight rotation is always a Dash flight.
DeleteYes but the day is A220
DeleteThat dreadful LF is going to get even worse when the Dash's go.
ReplyDeleteStill SKP is served by A319/320 and A220 mix of planes , finally we will not see the dash anymore
Delete" be reduced from the planned eleven weekly to ten weekly"
ReplyDelete"Zagreb and Munich from the planned fourteen weekly to thirteen weekly"
"from the planned eleven weekly rotations to between six and eight weekly flights from next week until the end of February"
Horrible those massive reductions - January seems to be a slow month concerning aviation news ;)
So you are angry it has been reported?
DeleteFrom my memory I remember reductions by Air Serbia and Air Montenegro also being reported here in detail. But anon 19:40 doesn't like that someone reports about a decrease from Croatia too. That's why you have Croatian portals where route terminations and flight decreases are widely ignored. Only positive news allowed.
DeleteExactly, if comments here routinely grill other airlines why would Croatia Airlines be exluded from pointing out this example of bad planning and significant miss on the Skopje route?
DeleteMy point too.
DeleteWe know on which portals these news won't be published.
No I am not angry its reported, just saying it is so mico news. 4 flights a week...
DeleteIt starts next week. This is not something planned well ahead. Skopje is going from 11 to 6-8, average 7, a drop of 36%, so far from micro. Bad move from a company that is on the path of becoming new Air Baltic, increasingly dependent on and partially owned by LH.
