KLM has unveiled an orange Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, which will be used to promote the Netherlands at events including this year’s Olympic Games. The aircraft features the front part of the fuselage painted in orange, before fading into KLM’s normal blue colour further down the aircraft. The design has also incorporated the colours of the Dutch flag in the transition between orange and blue. The paint job took a team of 35 people four days to spray, using 335 litres of paint. The B777 will be used on regular flights across the carrier’s network, as well as “events that offer opportunities to promote the Netherlands”. It will be utilised on the Amsterdam - Rio route during the Olympic Games, and will operate a special “Medal Flight”, bringing home Dutch medal winners from the games on August 22.
