Montenegro's two commercial airports - Podgorica and Tivat - recorded mixed results at the start of 2016. Podgorica Airport welcomed 41.165 passengers in January, an increase of 4% compared to the same month last year. On the other hand, Tivat Airport handled 18.438 travellers, down 9.8% on 2015. Last year, Tivat Airport's annual figures fell 1.7% to 895.033, primarily as a result of a sharp decline in the number of Ukrainian tourists. On the other hand, Podgorica's figures improved 6.7% to 748.175 passengers.
