Lotus Air and Wizz Air commence Belgrade flights
Lotus Air has become the second Egyptian charter airline to operate flights to Belgrade following KoralBlue Airlines. The Egyptian airline commenced flights to the Serbian capital yesterday from the seaside town of Hurghada while flights from Cairo and Sharm el-Sheikh will also operate throughout the summer. An Airbus A320 will be operating the flights. Last year, Egyptian charter carriers did not receive clearance from the Serbian Aviation Directorate in order for it to protect the interests of the national carrier. However, this year, the story is different. Competition to Egyptian cities has never been more fierce with Jat Airways, Aviogenex, KoralBlue and now Lotus Air all operating flights to various cities.Meanwhile, on Saturday, the low cost Wizz Air launched flights from Dortmund to Nikola Tesla Airport. There were a total of 126 passengers coming to Belgrade and 140 on the return leg, the “B92” network reports. Over the weekend the Italian low cost airline Wind Jet stemmed rumors that it would fly to Belgrade in the near future. It continues, however, to operate regular flights to Niš.
Great, finally something positive and a good healthy competition is always good!
ReplyDeleteHope WZZ will make BEG airport as a base! Would be great to see that!
Any chances we are going to see EZY and FR in BEG and INI?
