Passenger numbers up by 200%
More flights, more aircraft and, most importantly, more passengers have seen B&H Airlines record a 202% passenger increase in the first half of 2010 compared to the same period last year. In the second quarter of the year, the airline carried 36.933 passengers, an increase of 90% compared to the second quarter 2009. The increase is somewhat lighter than that recorded in the first quarter when passenger figures increased by 133%. However, while the number of flights increased 46% in the first quarter, flight operations increased by only 4% in the second, making the second quarter passenger increase more remarkable. In the second quarter, a total of 429 scheduled flights were operated and 44 charters were carried out. The airline recorded an average load factor of 78%, making it the highest in the EX-YU region.
The national carrier of Bosnia and Herzegovina carried a total of 54.191 passengers in the first six months of the year. The upcoming month of August is traditionally the airline’s busiest month. In 2009, B&H Airlines carried a total of 87.158 passengers.
Meanwhile, B&H Airlines will finally receive its long awaited Airbus A319 jet on August 1. However, current booking systems show that the Boeing B737-700 will be arriving instead. You can read more details on the new arrival here on Sunday, August 1.
It looks like it is Airbus afterall

SJJ posted 7,9% increase for Q2. Increase H1 is at 9% compared to first half of 2009.
ReplyDeleteGood numbers considering that it actually grew by 4,7% between 2008 and 2009.
@administrator
Is the load factor of 78% independently verified or is this just something that the airline itself states?

Would you be kind to educate us which independent body verifes airline passenger load factors?

Nice to finally see the plane. However, there could be some issues regarding the registration of the plane.
ReplyDeleteAs we can see on some pictures (link in the opening post,) the plane got a Turkish registration again. The Bosnian Directorate of Civil Aviation (BHDCA) seems not to keen on letting another BH airlines plane fly under any other registration, than starting with E7...
To be continued I guess
Pozz,

ReplyDelete:-) The last anonymus, totaly understand your frustration :-) and with all respect to ADMIN who is doing a great job, these kinds of news(selling, buying, coruption,etc..) are really boring!
ReplyDeleteHowever, great news that B&H Airlines is doing great, AT LEAST SOMEONE in Bosnia where I am from as I was devistated to read in a few newspapers that Bosnia is the 2nd FROM THE BOTTOM for unemployment in Europe :-(
Ajde vise ryanair pocimaj dolazit u Mostar,Sarajevo,Mali Losinj,Brac ajdeeeee
Let's not forget that the airline of course has been building off a very low base for some time, and we have had a whole range of destinations last summer that didn't work. Are they turning over a profit, or like OU have record pax but still at a loss?
ReplyDeleteOne can only wish them well - with careful growth and outlook they can be successful.
Be interested to know what the figures to/from ZAG have been like...
Last anonymus, Zagreb wasn't doing well in the beginning. I've heard that from some people that were flying the route at the beginning, but I don't know how they're doing now though. They've had some TV and internet advertisement and the price of SJJ-ZAG flights are lower then those of Croatia Airlines. I think they have better CLF now in the summer then when they just started the flights. SJJ-BEG-SJJ flights are doing very well as I've heard.
ReplyDeleteActually the BEG flights are doing really bad as well.
ReplyDeleteAnonymus from London have you got private e mail?
ReplyDeleteWell some days ago B&H Airlines had a better LF on BEG-SJJ flight then Jat so I don't know if it's allways really bad though. Anyway, these destinations have to develop...
ReplyDeleteIf these flights were to develop, I assume JAT and Croatia Airlines would have expanded their ops into SJJ quite some time ago. They have no future with B&H Airlines and will soon join the long list of terminated routes.
ReplyDeleteHow can you be so sure of it my friend? If B&H Airlines have better product for these flights on the market, why would they terminate their flights SJJ-BEG? Maybe Jat will terminate that route. You can never know and just for the record, B&H Airlines actually have a better product for this route then Jat. Go check it yourself.
ReplyDeleteWhat are you talking about, they both use the same aircraft and atleast Jat offers connections. B&H is inferior to Jat end of story.
