Skopje Airport awaits new winter flights
The Albanian low cost airline Belle Air Europe will commence flights from Skopje to Rome and Dusseldorf. The airline will launch its two weekly service to Rome Fiumicino Airport on December 15. The flights will be in direct competition with Blu-express from Italy, which began services on the same route yesterday. Interestingly, both airlines will operate flights on exactly the same days (Thursdays and Sundays) with only a few hours between them. Return ticket prices on both vary between 150 and 200 Euros. Belle Air will also launch flights from Dusseldorf to the Macedonian capital with a two weekly frequency. Services from Dusseldorf will be inaugurated on December 10.The Macedonian Civil Aviation Agency, in cooperation with Skopje Airport operator TAV, is looking to fill in the void left by MAT Macedonian Airlines and its successor Mat Airways by finding alternative airlines to operate the same routes, as a result catering for the needs of Macedonian travellers. Tour operators are also confident that the new flights to the Italian capital will attract tourists from both sides. Negotiations are now underway for flights from Amsterdam and Brussels to be launched.
Flight details for the Rome service can be found here, while information on the Dusseldorf flights can be viewed here. So far this year, Skopje Airport has seen many new arrivals including Wizz Air, Air Berlin, Blue-express and Pegasus Airlines.

Any flights to Greece?
ReplyDeleteToday is the first flight of SkyWork from Bern to Belgrade! The flight is about half an hour late and will not park at a gate but rather at a parking on the other side.
ReplyDeleteCompletely OT, but I must share it:
ReplyDeleteINI is again the first in the region in publishing pax numbers! It is not difficult to count them :), nevertheless it is 2.683 (avg 43 pax per flight) in October, 20.748 so far this year. It is suprisingly the third best month in a year.
It will again beat OSI in pax numbers, both with virtually the same performance like last year.
Among small airports in ex-yu this year the biggest surprise is OMO, with 30.000 pax so far, with not a single scheduled flight.
Ex-yu You forgot also the launch of Vienna-Skopje on 16th of December, also operated by Belle-Air!About 160 Euros RT.
ReplyDeleteI hope Skopje gets a regular service SKP-AMS cause in the summer season there were about 7 weekly charters from AMS to OHD!
And finally I hope for some southern german and spanish cities as well!

ReplyDeleteCroatia, Adria and Jat gets 3***. By points in all categories far the best is Croatia, than Jat, and very near is Adria. But you have to know that Jat did have evaluation ages ago whan there were no all categories (data market as n/m) not as Adria and Croatia which had evaluation much later with all categories.

Any news on new airlines commencing in Nis or any of the other smaller airports?
ReplyDeleteSkytrax also declared Turkish Airlines as best European Airliner based on 18 Mil votes, of course, all of them from Turkey.
ReplyDeleteI fly monthly by Turkish, because I have to. Joke of the Company.
The worst of all I have ever flown with.
It would be lot better if they would improve their service at first place than sponsoring Premier league, Barcelona, NBA etc.
Skytrax evaluation is definitely not independent and consequently does not worth a lot.
Skytrax evaluation is recognized by Airlines and most authorities, analysts and journalist in air traffic. Most of them order evaluation by thamselve.
ReplyDeleteBy Skytrax Turkish is 4**** company.
Skopje-Istambul all tax included 29 euros.Istambul to major EU hubs 55 euros by Pegasus(flypgs.com)
