Jat sees pre-crisis passenger figures
On September 12, Jat Airways handled its millionth passenger of the year, the earliest since 2008. The good result was achieved after strong growth was recorded in August. Last month, the Serbian national carrier welcomed 184.728 passengers, an increase of 19% compared to the same month last year. The average cabin load factor for the month stood at 79%, up one point. Passenger growth was seen across the board, with numbers up by 15% on Euro Mediterranean flights, 11% on scheduled flights and 82% on charter flights. However, figures slumped on flights to and from Montenegro by 5%, although the number of operated flights also decreased 11%.In the first eight months of the year, the Serbian national carrier welcomed 940.283 passengers, up 13% on last year. The average cabin load factor stood at 75%, an increase of 5%. This is despite a fall of 2% in the number of operated flights. On September 12, the airline welcomed its millionth passengers. Jat has already seen its best May result since 2000 and its best June result since 1991. The airline has seen its revenue increase by 20%.

Good, now if they could only get rid of their handling agent they might make a profit.

DeleteIt is nice to hear that load factors have increased, but really have profits increased? If JAT was doing so great, they would have bids for the airlin, that it would be hard to decide who to go with. Its easy to sell promos but the promos have to cover the total costs of running and maintaining one aircraft.
ReplyDeletePeople, Jat will not report a profit until their handling agent is around. This is the mechanism set in place in the last couple of years through which they steal all profits made by the airline. It is worthless to hope until this system is in place.
