Wizz Air's eighth destination to Skopje
Wizz Air will introduce a new service to the Macedonian capital this summer season. Starting from Orthodox Good Friday on May 3, the low cost airline will operate two weekly flights between Stockholm’s Skavsta Airport and Skopje. Services will run every Monday and Friday with ticket already on sale. Further details can be viewed here. As a result, Stockholm will be Wizz Air’s ninth destination to the Macedonian capital where it opened a base earlier on this winter. Sweden has proved to be the airline’s most popular market from Macedonia, with services to Malmo being the busiest.
Wizz Air will be spreading its wings this summer within the former Yugoslavia as it plans to base a second aircraft in Belgrade and open up several new routes. It has long been tipped that the low cost airline would expand its offer of destinations from Skopje. Soon it will be known whether Wizz Air has plans to further develop its network from the EX-YU, with the airline set to reveal its 2013/2014 winter schedule in June and July. Meanwhile, Nordic Air Sweden, which was to launch flights from Copenhagen to Skopje on February 28, has now moved the service to April 2. The airline plans to operate two weekly flights between the Danish and Macedonian capital, every Monday and Thursday. Details can be viewed here.
On the other hand, Alitalia has postponed the planned launch of its flights from Rome to Podgorica. The service was to be inaugurated on March 26 with an Airbus A320. Flights were to be carried out three times per week. However, the Italian carrier, which has been forced to cancel many flights in January and February due its financial problems, now plans to launch services to Podgorica on June 1. The equipment operating on the route has also been downgraded to an Embraer 190. The revised flight details can be found here.
What are all the Bosniaks doing in Istanbul to justify the staggering 40 flights a week?!
ReplyDeleteOn the other hand, JU flights to IST are so seldom they should better cancel the line.
DeleteSlight corrections on Wizz Air:
ReplyDelete.. with ticket sales having already started since yesterday. ;)
And a ninth destination from SKP.
Any idea why Wizz is flying only on Tuesday and Saturday from BEG to BSL in May? Thursday seems back in July...
DeleteD4 is back once the 2nd a/c is based. Until then it's operated by the SKP a/c in a 'W' pattern. Perhaps there are some limitations related to that.

DeleteOn 35th of March!
ReplyDeleteNo, no, you don't have the newest info : it's been delayed for 40th of March for ATR's, and it's still 35th of June, for jets. Well, they are not sure yet which type of jets, but it's confirmed, it's 35th of June for jets
DeleteAnd 31st of June
ReplyDeleteTwo ATR's most probably after Orthodox Easter, Airbus-es during summer.
ReplyDeleteDuring summer? They will not decide which model they will lease till summer... and than they will spend several extra millions for short-lease in last second. If they will insist, so intelligent, on Airbuses even more extra millions for wet-lease.
DeleteIn any way congratulation. Commission work for 3 months to find that it is not possible to train crew for Airbuses till summer. Just if they checked this blog they could read that it is not possible and will, in first place, try to find Boeings. But than they would not spend extra millions for lease in last second.
In my country there is saying:
"ima se - može se!" :-)))
i u nasoj se tako isto kaze :))))
DeleteNot Boeings. Airbuses. Decided. EU. At whatever cost and whenever delivery.
