Skopje Airport marks Wizz Air expansion


Skopje Alexander the Great Airport and budget airline Wizz Air have marked the launch of three new routes from the Macedonian capital. The carrier introduced services from Skopje to Copenhagen, Berlin and Bratsialva over the past week. "With the introduction of three new routes from Skopje Alexander the Great Airport, to Berlin, Copenhagen and Bratislava, the number of European capital cities linked with Skopje has increased from eleven to fourteen. All three routes will be welcomed by our diaspora, Macedonian citizens, tourists, as well as businesspeople", Zoran Krstevski, TAV Macedonia's General Manager said. David Morgan, Wizz Air’s Chief Flying Operations Officer, added, "Macedonia continues to meet our expectations for passenger growth and we are responding with more destinations and low fares. We are very proud to have a hand in strengthening the economy and multiplying opportunities for the country". With the new routes, Wizz Air will have more than one million seats om sale from Macedonia in 2016, representing a 22% growth in capacity compared to last year.
