Lufthansa will be celebrating the 183rd Oktoberfest with its crew to sport national costume uniforms on flights between Munich and Belgrade. Each year over the past decade Lufthansa crew have worn traditional Bavarian costumes on a select number of flights to celebrate the annual event. This year, Belgrade has been selected by Lufthansa CityLine along with Birmingham, Cluj, Nice, Olbia and Sylt. In 2014, passenger on Lufthansa flights to and from Zagreb were also treated to the spectacle.
This year’s anniversary costume was designed and tailored by the Munich national costume specialists Angermaier, which is outfitting the crews to match the largest public festival in the world for the third time in a row. The Oktoberfest dirndl for the flight stewardesses is dark blue with a silver-grey pinafore. The men wear knee-length lederhosen with a dark blue waistcoat in the same fabric as the dirndls. Passengers on flights to and from Belgrade will be able to catch the crew sporting the garment towards the end of this year’s Oktoberfest on October 3.
