Zadar Airport anticipates handling a record number of passengers this year, on the back of a strong first quarter, during which it welcomed 11.098 travellers, up 103% on the same period last year. "In 2016 we surpassed our annual record of 520.000 passengers. According to our estimates, in 2017 we will register an 8% - 12% passenger increase compared to last year", the General Manager of Zadar Airport, Irena Ćosić, said. She added, "This year, Zadar Airport will offer eight new routes. Ryanair is introducing flights to Copenhagen, Glasgow and Bristol, Eurowings will commence services to Vienna and Munich, while easyJet, as a brand new customer whose arrival we have been anticipating for a while, will launch operations to Milan and London". Titan Airways and Flybe will also become new carriers serving Zadar, Ms Ćosić said. She added, "We are continuing our talks with Air Serbia, since there is strong demand for the introduction of flights between Belgrade and Zadar. We hope to fulfil this plan next summer".
