NEWS FLASH
Rijeka Airport has seen its passenger numbers grow during the first half of the year, with plans to handle some 170.000 travellers in 2017. The figure would represent an increase of 15%. The airport welcomed some 40.000 passengers during the first six months of 2016, up 5%. Furthermore, the number of aircraft movements soared 105% according to the airport's General Manager, Tomislav Palalić. Rijeka Airport processed the second highest amount of freight in Croatia this year, behind only Zagreb, with 350 tonnes of cargo handled so far. The impressive results come despite the collapse of charter carrier Limitless Airways over the winter, which was based in Rijeka, and operated numerous charters from the city last year. Last week, Eurowings announced it would serve Rijeka's first year-round international route, to Cologne, after it made the decision to extend the seasonal summer service throughout the year.
So INI overtook them quite nicely even last year.
ReplyDeleteNot true, last year RJK had 20k pax more than INI
DeleteThen it's great, INI overtook another airport in ex-YU. Great news for them.
DeleteGood Work!!
ReplyDeleteBravo Hrvatska!
ReplyDelete"... the number of aircraft movements soared 105% ...", off course, they count training touch and gos during may as aircraft movements.
ReplyDelete"The impressive results come despite the collapse of charter carrier Limitless Airways over the winter." - Limitless flew only abt. 3 flights to Rijeka during the season, the rest they flew between other destinations.
