Air Serbia has scaled back an aspect of its buy on board catering product by offering a complimentary small bottle of water to all passengers, regardless of their fare type. The carrier has been criticised across social media platforms for charging travellers for water. The Serbian airline rolled out its buy on board catering service in March, entitled Elevate Deli & Bar, in line with its new hybrid business model. It allows passengers to purchase food and drinks on board flights lasting up to three hours. The measures were rolled out in a bid to boost revenue. Air Serbia posted a record sixteen million euro profit in 2017. Adria Airways, which was the first airline in the former Yugoslavia to begin charging for on board meals and beverages in 2014, introduced complimentary water for all travellers in 2016 following pressure from customers.

Yesterday, on flight to Zagreb, I was shocked when flight attendants gave me bottle of water :)
ReplyDeleteWhat was the load factor?
DeleteWell, bottle was full actually.
DeleteGreat news. I actually think this is now ideal, free water, but if you want to eat or drink coke or wine, you need to pay.
ReplyDeleteFirst positive effects of Etihad management's deparure from JU.
ReplyDeleteIndeed... So hope that new management will make out that order of A320 NEOs should be reorganized to some A220 .

DeleteTako je, ne može se bez vode biti lider u regionu
ReplyDeleteNext train the cabin staff to deal with cash and card payments more efficiently......and perhaps bring back the smiles of Air Serbia s couple of years ago...
ReplyDeleteVeliki korak napred ...pretrgli su se u predstavljanju Srbskog gostoprimstva!
ReplyDeleteReally!? Great....if you can't provide along water free coffee, tea and juices for people then something is really wrong with you business!
ReplyDeleteWake up guys, this is a small expense for the airline that goes a long wyw for customers.
They made a first step along that path. Hopefully that comes as a new upgrade soon.
DeleteAir Serbia is not a low cost in terms of their high fares! There sould be at least complimantary water/juice/a cup of Cola + a little bar of chocolate..It is a scheme what are they doing...
ReplyDeleteLow cost and high fares are not related. Wizz has very high fares to London during summer but they are low cost airline.

ReplyDeleteRead this and why its so important having a national carrier, it saves job even in a water bottle company! Many families are depending on air serbia
They were providing Rosa until now.
ReplyDeleteThis complementary water is smaller bottle, its 0.25l I think... Not sure what are they serving in buy on board.
DeleteThis one was 0.5l.
DeleteJust to remind how they started in 2013/14: choice of 2 meals, whisky, wines, beers, juices - FREE for all economy pax !!!
DeleteAnd that was huge mistake for sure, Anon 13:37....
DeleteThey should have had such an 'extensive' list of destinations instead. That's what Lot has been doing.
DeleteVolim nacionalnu aviokompaniju ali mislim da ce njoj brzo doci kraj - jos par godina najvise.
ReplyDeleteFew days ago on my flight to Dubrovnik they offered water twice as flight was delayed - we were waiting for 11 transfer passengers from Zagreb.
