NEWS FLASH
Low cost carrier Wizz Air will increase capacity on its upcoming new service between Skopje and Larnaca, which is due to launch on July 3. Flights will now be maintained by the larger 230-seat Airbus A321 aircraft, instead of the initially planned 180-seat A320. Services between the Macedonian capital and the Cypriot city will run twice per week, each Wednesday and Sunday. Further flight details can be found here.
Hehehe are the Macedonians flocking to Cyprus?
ReplyDeleteCyprus is the new Germany, now ¿
WOW, I did not see that one happening!
ReplyDeleteLCA was the route most of us thought had the smallest chance of success from SKP.
Bookings must be strong if they are already increasing frequencies.
Capacity, not frequency.
Delete*Correction, they are increasing aircraft capacity, not frequencies. Sorry. :D
DeleteThey might do the same thing with flights out of BEG!
ReplyDeleteHopefully that will allow them to offer cheaper ticket prices.
They can only do that in bases where they have A321s based (or operating as Ws). BEG will have to wait a bit..
DeleteI don't think BEG will see the A321 any time soon, there is nowhere to send it. They have competition on most routes.
DeleteJU simply cemented its position in BEG with the A319 expansion to Iberian peninsula and North Africa.
DeleteForget about BEG-BCN operated by W6.
Wizz Air would not bring anything new to the table. Like it or not but BEG is the only truly competitive airport in ex-YU. That's why W6 is struggling.
DeleteBCN is up on A321 too
ReplyDeleteSame as INI-VIE...
DeleteINI-VIE is not an upgrade. It was outlined when the route would operate with an A321 from the very start.
DeleteWell the flight was initially planned to be operated with an A321.
ReplyDeleteWhen the flights were put on sale the first day I booked tickets for a return trip SKP-LCA and the seat selection already showed the A321 configuration.
I think an additional freq. during the peak would have made more sense but anyways I'm happy about the huge capacity.
Nemjee was wrong.
ReplyDeleteWell, the jury is still out. Don't forget that once upon a time they increased BEG-LCA to two weekly, year-round, then reduced it to once a week in winter and then finally made it seasonal.
