NEWS FLASH
FlyBosnia has announced it will maintain flights between Sarajevo and London three times per week, although the carrier is yet to schedule the service, which it previously said would commence in September. In a statement, the Sarajevo-based airline noted, "The connection with London is primarily our effort to help business people realise their business plans. Our three time per week line will give businessmen and believers the opportunity to quickly connect via Sarajevo to the Middle East and tour Umrah. Also, and given the large number of students and postgraduates who are completing their studies outside, we strive to connect Sarajevo with European capitals without undue need".
Hmm... interesting that they are announcing frequencies ahead of the airport they plan on flying to. lol

On a serious note, I notice this is mostly aimed at Middle Eastern passengers not locals.
Maybe .. but for us who live in UK but have Bosnian family members this route could be really useful .. right now UK >> Bosnia air travel is expensive & time consuming
DeleteWell I guess the market is not that big since Wizz Air failed from Tuzla.
DeleteWizzair had 78-80% LF from Tuzla to LTN which is not enough for LCC.
DeleteThe company is private so there really isn't any obligation to the local passengers.
DeleteWizz Air didn't fail, they chickened out because of Brexit, the loads were better than planned.
DeleteIs there a reason someone would connect in SJJ instead of flying direct (I am assuming London has plenty of direct flights)? Choosing London as the first European destination is odd especially with Brexit looming. I will be surprised if this works out well in the end.
ReplyDeleteI agree they would also make loads of money with bosnian ppl in other European cities everyone visits bosnia 1/3 times a year. Tourism in bosnia from europe is also getting better.
DeleteWhy does everything connect to the middle east? The Uk is connected to the middle east. And ppl would rather by a cheap easyjet ticket to amsterdam or german citys to connect to the middle east!
