Kuwait Airways will become Etihad Airways’ seventh codeshare partner on flights between Abu Dhabi and Belgrade. The Kuwaiti carrier will add its flight numbers and designator code between the two cities, giving its passengers the opportunity to fly to the Serbian capital. The deal will come into effect on January 5, 2020. Kuwait Airways’ CEO, Kamel Al-Awadhi, said, “This new partnership will bring enhanced connectivity and increased convenience to our customers, who can expect the same level of impeccable service that they receive from our airline when they travel on codeshare flights to and from Kuwait to Abu Dhabi and beyond”. Carriers codesharing on Etihad’s Abu Dhabi - Belgrade flights include Air Serbia, Montenegro Airlines, Virgin Australia, Oman Air, SriLankan Airlines and Saudi Arabian Airlines.
How are Etihad's loads on Belgrade route? Given how many airlines codeshare, one would expect they are packed.

DeleteThey usually don't load those in the system till late January. They are packed. I've flown with them maybe 10 times in these 5 years and they have always been full. Mind you, there fares are very good.
DeleteCool, I was sad to see them them reduce to one daily. Hopefully they manage to send something larger like A321? It took them forever to increase A319 to A320.

Time for JU to return to AUH!
ReplyDeleteI don't think that JU will be returning to AUH any time soon... For the time needed to carry out return flight to AUH (around 11-12 hours) they could carry out three return flights in Europe and fill significantly total of 6 flights... JU has abandoned this route couple of years ago because of this reason...

DeleteAs far as I remember, no. It was either Beirut or Larnaca as stopover on Dubai flight. But I would rather forget the period of Jat Airways. JAT, what it was, until 1991, and even what Air Serbia is trying now, is something to respect. Jat Airways, definitely no.
DeleteThey did fly to Kuwait City for around a year when the war between Israel and Lebanon started and before they moved the flights via Larnaca. They even had fifth freedom rights between Kuwait City and Dubai. I flew on this route. It was veerrry long nonstop on a classic B737-300 and flights to Dubai were always full. So it was one uncomfortable ride.
DeleteAnon 19:12 Yes it did... I was flying from Dubai to Belgrade via Kuwait 13-14 years ago when I was getting back to Serbia from Australia... Flight was carried out with B737-300. We landed in Kuwait just to get passengers, but I remember that flight was almost empty, max 30-40 passengers were on board...
