NEWS FLASH
Leisure carrier SunExpress will introduce seasonal flights between Izmir and Skopje next summer. Services will commence on May 23 and run once per week, each Saturday, until September 19. Up until now, SunExpress has operated summer charters from Antalya to the Macedonian capital. The carrier is a joint venture between Lufthansa and Turkish Airlines. Flight details for the new route can be found here. Tickets have been put on sale through the airline’s website.
Excellent news for SKP! Clearly there is demand for Turkey.
ReplyDeleteJU must also ditch VLC and consider Izmir. The pearl of the Mediterranean....
JU serves Izmir through Aviolet.
DeleteOhrid is getting Izmir flights as well
ReplyDeleteThey started Ohrid this year.
Deletewho is they? Onur started last year
DeleteOmg - what crappy flying time!!
ReplyDeleteCould be better but it's not the end of the world. Like that people can finish work on a Friday and go on holidays Saturday in the morning. At least I am happy JU no longer operates charter flights at night.
Deletemost of the seats are reserved from turkish tour operators already anyway
DeleteI've been on these flights few times now, the reason for this flying time from my point of view is that the offer from the airlines in this time of the day is cheaper and also most of the passengers are going to the resorts in Antalya for example, the arrangement is for 6 nights. So with the late departure from Antalya at the last day we are checking out from the hotel at noon and then we stay in the resort for whole day, a bus is picking us up at around 22:00, so you get the feeling that you're staying 7 instead of 6 days. :)
Deletethe Pegasus charter Izmir - Skopje is flying at similar times.
Deleteit also helps them utilising their fleet during the night
