In August I flew from Zagreb to Zadar on Croatia Airlines with their Q400 aircraft. With a flight time of just half an hour, these were my impressions. Enjoy.

Nice trip report my friend! Just a comment for the airport. It's the 15th of August and it seems empty, I wonder how it is now in winter time.
ReplyDeleteWhat's interesting is that two planes had to be parked at the old airport. From what I could see most passengers seemed to be transfer ones. If OU goes bankrupt I doubt anyone would step in to launch ZAG-ZAD flights.
DeleteLuckily, we have excellent highways. :)
DeleteTrue but that's not enough for aviation fans!
DeleteBravo Hrvatska!
ReplyDeleteFrankly, I don't se a point in the report w/o a comment. Video mixes arrival to ZAD w pax waiting to board at PUY. Apparently, the author didn't get off the plane in ZAD.
ReplyDelete@belcielo ZAD passed 800K this year, the best ever. From Nov thru March there are two flights daily: ZAG ZAD PUY. Without state subsidies there would be none.
ReplyDeleteI was referring to the Zagreb airport not the Zadar one.
DeleteZAG always looks empty bc it is oversized since the mngmt makes no effort or has no clue how to attract new airlines.
DeleteNot only they are not attracting new airlines, but losing existing : CSA and Swiss being the latest additions to the list ; Korean, Emirates and Norwegian in winter, Eurowings cutting half of destinations, they lost Easyjet and Wizz long ago, Malaysian used to fly to ZAG, Alitalia and SAS used to fly ZAG, the list is long and will probably become even longer. And some people here saying day by day Bravo Hrvatska, yeah right
DeleteCoastal airports paint a completely different picture, fortunately. Hence, bravo Hrvatska.
ReplyDeleteUseless Zagreb airport somebody was paid well to.let the French run it ....big.mistake just another 20 years to go, shame on the government ..
DeleteCAPELLI IS USELESS AND. HAS NO ODEA ON TOURISM, always concentrate on your jewel which is Zagreb.
1000 PEOPLE go to Dubrovnik 50 will return ....1000 go to Zagreb most will return.
What about Slavonia ...forgot about them ....
Useless TOURISM ministers let outside run this country as clearly the Croats can't do it FACT..only been here 30 years what do I know .
Wby are PEOPLE leaving ? great education no reward at the end well done HR.
My daughter is a professor here and earn less than a worker from LDL in UK ....shame
Start about I g at your government look at the tallest of the EU or stay poor ...you all complain but do.nothing about it....Start shouting loud till they listen and move forward instead of becoming poorer.
DeleteYou're shouting..... it works. :))
DeleteWell, no matter of how low presidential authorities in HR are, the people of Croatia has just shown, or shouted, if you like the expression more, symbolically, that they had enough, and are about to say good bye to criminal organization which robbed and destroyed, both the country and its aviation, among the other segments of life.
DeleteThey destroyed our ex country as well
DeleteYes they have tried but it's now time to show them that it's not a race it's just a journey ...and it's time.for the young Croatians to run the country ...croatia is great
