Low cost carrier Wizz Air will introduce a new two weekly service from Vienna to Podgorica starting July 3. Flights will operate each Monday and Friday. Wizz will compete directly against Austrian Airlines' daily and Montenegro Airlines' five weekly services on the route, effectively ending their duopoly. Further flight details can be found here.

Montenegro keeps winning!
ReplyDeleteAmazing developments!!
Wizz Air will hurt Austrian and Montenegro Airlines flying the same route. That means Montenegro will have to pay even more subsidies to their airline. Montenegro and their taxpayers keep losing.
DeleteAnonymous@23:25: What about Montenegro's tourism industry, which will undoubtedly benefit from the new low-cost route? Besides, competition is almost always good news for both passengers (who get lower fares) and the economy as a whole. Protectionism is a dead-end street; it may have some short-term benefits (and even this is doubtful in many cases), but in the long run, it hurts everyone involved.
DeleteYM suspending VIE in 3...2...1...
ReplyDeleteEvery new addition is welcome. It would be great if this new competition from Wizz would push Austrian or Montenegro to open Vienna - Tivat seasonal line to make up for lost market share.
ReplyDeleteIt would be great if this new competition from Wizz would push Austrian or Montenegro to REDUCE THEIR TICKET PRICES!

ReplyDeleteYes but from 02.04.2020 Wizz Air is reducing BUD-TGD from 3 to 2 weekly, operated by A320.
ReplyDeleteThat's great! Austrian has really crazy conditions for flights from/to Vienna to the Balkans.
ReplyDeleteAgree with that...needed competition to low prices but still Montenegroairlines is expensive and they do not have good lines
