Zagreb Airport has been undamaged in an earthquake which hit the Croatian capital this morning. The earthquake at 6.24 am had a magnitude of 5.5 with the epicenter seven kilometres north of Zagreb. An aftershock with 5.1 magnitude followed around 7.00, and another one with 3.7 at 7.42. There has been substantial damage reported across the city. All passengers inside Zagreb Airport’s terminal were evacuated following the earthquake with Croatia Airlines’ morning wave of flights delayed. Operations are expected to return to normal at approximately 11.00. The terminal building, as well as the runway and taxiways, have been checked and cleared of having any damage, to ensure the safety of all passengers.
