Air Serbia runs eight Italy aid flights

Air Serbia has today operated four of eight flights carrying medical equipment and aid donated by Serbia to Italy to combat the Covid-19 pandemic. A further two flights will run on Sunday and another two on Monday. The donation contains two million surgical and epidemiological masks, 100.000 protective suits and a million gloves. The first four flights departed within minutes of each other from Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport this afternoon bound for Rome. They included an Airbus A330-200, an A320 and two A319 aircraft. Two A319 jets will be dispatched tomorrow.

Unbelievable photos. YU-ARA is now a cargo plane. Just close to fiction.

When it's a donation from one country to another, that is how it works. Good morning.

With resumption of long haul passenger service not yet being on a horizon, some airlines quickly removed seats to increase cargo capacity in the cabin. Example from Air Canada 777-300ER increasing total capacity to 90 metric tons:

Why Air Serbia didn't do the same?

Because JFK resumes in a few weeks.

    2. AirCanada is about making money. Canadian gouvermant does not do anything for free. You can not compare AiSerbia that does mostly humanitarian flights and rescue flights for free while your AirCanada is charging people 3x more then regular flights to comeback home . Perfect example when Canadian gouvermant organized to rescue Canisns from Serbia on April 05 they charged each passenger 1600 CAD while AirSerbia rescued 8 Canadiand on Washington flight for free . Everyone knows how Canada and those western countries function.

JFK resumption in a few weeks was not announced. Given record number of new cases in the US two days ago and rising number of new cases in Serbia for a second day in a row that resumption remains highly unlikely.

Air Serbia had an opportunity to remove seats after last passenger flight to IAD more than two weeks ago, but didn't.

  7. Got to love the “tax payers money” people 😂😂😂

The best money spent ever was Air Serbia deal. Proud of them. Hope to see them flying in many years to come!

I wrote the taxpayer comment on purpose because now those same people don't mind our taxes being thrown at random foreign countries that couldn't care less about Serbia. However when we invest those same taxes in JU then it's the end of the world.

Pure hatred towards Serbia, that's it.

It has gone unnoticed by seats were removed from YU-APH to make more room for the goodies coming from the far east.
