Banja Luka Airport saw its passenger numbers grow during the first quarter of the year thanks to a strong performance prior the impact of the coronavirus Covid-19 pandemic. In March it handled 6.458 passengers, representing a decrease of 35.1% compared to 2019. Banja Luka Airport has been officially closed for commercial flights since March 30, although it was left without any services as early as March 19, when both Air Serbia and Ryanair suspended operations to the city. During the first quarter, Banja Luka Airport welcomed 32.075 travellers through its doors, which is still up 20.6% on the same period in 2019.
