SAS Scandinavian Airlines has cancelled its planned new seasonal services from Copenhagen to Zadar and Tivat as a result of the coronavirus Covid-19 pandemic. Flights to both coastal cities were to launch on June 30 and July 1 respectively, and were to run twice per week. Zadar Airport’s operations have been hard hit by the pandemic with fourteen planned new routes cancelled so far ths summer season by Ryanair, Lauda and airBaltic, in addition to SAS. Tivat Airport has also lost new flights with Condor cancelling plans to inaugurate operations from Frankfurt.
Sad, but makes sense. Nothing wrong with the routes as such, I'm sure, but if demand is lower and they fly less, it is logical that they keep tried and tested routes rather than take chances on new ones. Hopefully next year instead!
