SmartLynx Airlines to open Pristina base

NEWS FLASH

Latvian charter carrier SmartLynx Airlines has been contracted by tour operator PrishtinaJET to base two Airbus A320 aircraft in Kosovo and launch flights to Basel, Dusseldorf, Stuttgart and Munich. Services will commence in early July and will include up to twelve weekly flights to Basel, daily flights to Dusseldorf and Stuttgart, as well as five weekly rotations to Munich. The new base will result in 33 new jobs, which will grow to sixty in the coming period. PrishtinaJET was established by a group of investors from the aviation industry, as well as professionals from the tourism and travel sectors. Pristina Airport is expected to reopen for scheduled commercial flights within the next two weeks.

Is this Latvian airline quickly entering Kosova because of W6? Yesterday someone mentioned that SKP is going to lose 1 aircraft. Maybe it will be shifted to PRN and those guys reacted really fast by launching those new flights.

PrishtinaJet has the same owners who have cheated passengers in recent years in Kosovo.

For the ridiculous amount we pay from IAD/JFK/EWR to PRN via VIE/ZRH/IST, someone could make a pretty penny with a straight shot, especially from June to September.

Eurowings announced its selling all large aircrafts and cutting oversea destinations and in mean time has other probelms like strugling and keeping business alive .... " The Eurowings boss assured that all customers who have refused vouchers or rebookings will be reimbursed for the money they had paid for flights not taken. For Eurowings, this is a three-digit million amount if all customers demand their money back, he said. “But if the customer wants it, we are of course ready to refund.” Due to the sheer number of claims, it will take time but will be achieved, making a wave of lawsuits against the carrier unlikely"
