NEWS FLASH
Finnish authorities have begun testing all passengers arriving on Wizz Air flights from Skopje to Turku after 26 passengers tested positive for the coronavirus on an August 8 flight. The subsequent service last Tuesday saw another five out of 146 passengers test positive, while a further twelve travellers had the virus on a flight on Saturday, August 15 out of 115 on board. The majority of passengers on the Turku service were Kosovan passport holders. There is still no evidence the virus had spread among travellers on board any of the flights. European Aviation Safety Agency studies show that “the cabin/cockpit air quality is similar or better than what is observed in normal indoor environments” such as offices, schools and home dwellings. Modern aircraft, including those operated by Wizz Air, have high efficiency air filters similar to those used in hospital operating rooms. They capture more than 99.9% of the airborne microbes in the filtered air.

ReplyDeleteHm seems situation might be out of control in KS
ReplyDeletemore then 1000 cases were reported in Germany in the last 4 weeks by people returning from Kosovo

Crazy how around 42% of all imported cases came from Kosovo and Metohija. I have a feeling that if the situation doesn't improve there are going to be flight bans in the future for flights from PRN
DeleteFantastic PR for Macedonia... not. I wonder why the government isn't doing more to scan passengers at the airport.
ReplyDeletethey let everybody to transit. but youre right for the PR. Macedonia has the least case simported in the EU for the last month in comparison with the other other yugo regions. but they must know what theyre doing...
DeleteIt is the smallest Yugo member in terms of population with the smallest diaspora (MNE excluded). What do you expect?
DeleteI wonder why WizzAir doesn't cancel flights from Skopje until next year? They're just spreading this disease. According to the latest news Finland will most likely ban this flight connection anyway.
ReplyDeleteOr why doesn't NMK bar anyone who has been at Kosovo in the past 14 days from entering. That seems like the easiest way to deal with this as most of the pax probably have dual Finnish-Kosovo citizenship so banning Kosovo passport holders wouldn't work and taking into consideration PPC test results can be fake/altered.
DeleteI think the country is experiencing economic hardship from covid so they are trying to restore as much economy as possible
Deletedont want to know how the situation is on PRN flights ...
ReplyDeleteOmg. Is there so much covid in North Macedonia? Hope the borders are closed without PCR
ReplyDeleteThis is actually not NMK, but Kosovo. But NMK is getting bad publicity - they need to act.
DeleteI read somewhere the other that 2/3 of Kosovo Albanian population until recently didn't even believe the virus was real. That's one of the reason why there is an explosion of new cases right now.
DeleteOn a positive note, Kosovars will probably reach heard immunity soon
Deletethey cough on the way to the airport, no? So it also a NMK problem, what about all the other people on the plane?? SKP should be banned as long as they allow so many infected people to spread the virus across Europe, no matter KiM or north m
DeleteYes, all these people dying arriving to planes on ventilators and dying onboard... truly worrying. LOL
Delete@17.46 that would be your dream wouldnt it?
DeleteInappropriate humour, my friend

ReplyDeleteThe NM authorities should really think about closing the border to all people coming from Kosovo unless they have a negative Covid-19 test during the last 72 hours.
