Croatian carrier Trade Air, which operates Public Service Obligation flights and ACMIs, as well as charter services from Ljubljana, has acquired its fourth aircraft - an Airbus A320. The jet, which is sixteen years old, was formally operated by Air Malta and now carries the registration 9A-BTI. It has been named “Luka”. The 180-seat plane is expected to receive the full company livery within the next two years. It joins the carrier’s two other A320s and one Fokker 100 jet.

ReplyDeleteWhy Hrvatska? Company is private, (yes, based in Hrvatska), but with no Hrvatska tax payer money in it self. So, it is bravo Trade Air!

DeleteOf course they do pay taxes in Croatia, their worker work under Croatian law, pay taxes here, they have building in Velika Gorica and pay taxes for it, they pay taxes in Zagreb airport and VAT on all those services...

Great airline. I use it often for RJK-DBV and PUY-SPU. Ok..subcontracted toVan Air..but it has never been late ( fir me)..very efficient.If Trade Air operated PUY-DBV ( prob A320 too big)..am sure it woukd succeed. So many tourists want Istria/Kvarner twin centre with Dubrovnik. And no..it isnt a 4 hour drive from Pula or Opatija to Dubrovnik! Croatia Airlines tried PUY-DBV but said unprofitable. Ryanair applied a few years ago..for that route but was declined by Croatian CAA ..protecting..guess who?
ReplyDeleteI still hope that one day when OU dies they will get a Fokker (or something of similar size) and launch ZAG flights. They can operate efficiently flights to major destinations like Paris, Amsterdam, some London airport, Istanbul, Tel Aviv and so on.
