Trebinje Airport plans advance

NEWS FLASH

Plans for the construction of a new airport in Trebinje in Bosnia and Herzegovina are progressing, with a new enterprise set up to run the future airport and a consortium of fifteen construction companies submitting their offer to carry out work on the airport site. Operator Airports of Serbia has named Mladen Stanković, who currently works at Niš Constantine the Great Airport, as the new head of the company which will manage Trebinje Airport. Local authorities will now begin work on a zoning plan for the airport site and a special law will be adopted for the project in order to expedite construction. The new airport will be built in the village of Mionići, some ten kilometres from Trebinje. It will feature a 3.5-kiloemtre runway, taxiways totalling 4.5 kilometres and a 7.000 square metre terminal building. The first commercial flight to Belgrade is planned for December 2021, although the development of the airport's full proposed capacity is expected to take up to four years.

Probably cargo. SJJ is probably too expensive for many operators so they can move to here.

Yeah, cargo operators like to save money by landing in the middle of nowhere and have their express parcels travel another 6h by truck.

Cargo for who? Who needs a widebody cargo in the tourist region with less then 1 mil. Population in the aerea of 100 km radius.

Opportunity doesn't exist for those blinded by jealousy. Others will see it and seize it.

Emmm, DBV is an airport you know. With a runway. And planes can land there. Big ones. So im not sure do you know it but airport doesnt not need an airport for handling planes.

15:43 can you show me where do you see an opportunity for cargo long haul flights in Trebinje? They will transfer cargo for who? Who is going to take it? Why will someone take it? Where it will go? Can you show it if "you are not blined by jealousy"?
