Croatia Airlines to launch Ancona charters

NEWS FLASH

Croatia Airlines will commence charter flights between Split and Ancona in Italy this summer season. Italian tour operator Goro Tours is organising the flights which will run three times per week, each Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, from July 31 until August 28. The service will be operated by the Dash 8 Q400 turboprop. Last year, prior to the start of the Covid-19 pandemic, Ancona Airport invited airlines to nominate cities which could be linked to Ancona and offered subsidies in order for scheduled flights to be established. Split was one of cities shortlisted, however, due to the global health emergency, the subsidy scheme never materialised.

Out of all the routes in the world, they choose the one where there's an overnight ferry? Weird. Not that OU should care, just saying.

    1. I think that's the point. Overnight ferry or one hour flight.

Ancona has/had cruise ship business, so some passengers may chose to continue their travels to/from Split.
