NEWS FLASH
Lufthansa will commence flights from Frankfurt to Sarajevo starting May 3, replacing its Munich service, which is suspended until further notice. Flights from Frankfurt will initially operate four times per week, each Monday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday, increasing to daily from June. Services will be maintained with the Airbus A319 aircraft. The route was last served by the now defunct B&H Airlines. Further flight details can be found here. Frankfurt was Sarajevo's second busiest unserved route in 2019, with 20.306 passengers flying indirectly between the two cities.
Fantastic news from Sarajevo and Bosnia the last few days! :)
ReplyDeleteFinally Frankfurt-Sarajevo
ReplyDeleteBut no more Munich :(
DeleteMunich is coming back as well in June :)
DeleteNot true. There are no nonstop flights between Munich and Sarajevo in June.
DeleteLike anon said above, Munich is not coming back in the short term. They did this with several other routes too, replaced Munich with Frankfurt. Munich is only offered in June (and other months) via FRA (LH) and via CGN (EW)
DeleteStill, FRA remains a much more important important compared to MUC and this is really a winning situation for SJJ. FRA is a primary destination and one of Europe's most important airports. In addition to the W6 base and LH FRA service, things are looking quite well for SJJ.
ReplyDeleteBravo, tu as gagné !
primary destination? its the least touristy big town in Germany. Munich is the second most visited city after Berlin. Frankuft is basically its airport
DeleteFrankfurt is a financial centre and now especially with Brexit many companies and banks moved there. Nobody is talking about tourism here.
DeletePlus, when I say primary destination it means it has much more connections to the world compared to MUC.
:D bas ce Sarajlije tamo u Banken-Zentrum. primary destination is something different then primary airport which we all agree FRA is
DeleteJust saw their timing and it seems a bit difficult to find any connections, since the flights leave early in the morning.
ReplyDeleteFrom MUC the flight was leaving at around 11:30 and one was able to catch a connection if they arrived to MUC in the morning wave and same with the return, as from Sarajevo the flight landed at around 14:00 and one was able to catch evening wave. This way, not sure how connections would be possible.
