Lufthansa Systems to set up ToMontenegro

Information technology service provider and advisory firm Lufthansa Systems has won a contract to manage ToMontenegro’s complete start-up process preparation and develop a long-term plan for the carrier, including future network and fleet structure. Lufthansa Systems is an independent subsidiary of the Lufthansa Group and has provided services and solutions to the air transportation industry worldwide. The company offers its more than 350 customers an extensive range of successful and in many cases market-leading products for the aviation industry. In addition, Lufthansa Systems also supports its customers both within and outside the Lufthansa Group with consulting services. Lufthansa Systems will begin working with ToMontenegro as of next Monday in order to clearly define the airline’s strategy and structure. The future national carrier is currently in the process of obtaining necessary permits in order to launch operations by June. It has so far secured two Embraer E195 aircraft, which have been purchased by the Montenegrin government.

Lufthansa Systems will provide support for the acquisition of a new Air Operator’s Certificate (AOC), the drafting of an organisational structure, business model, transition plan of key assets from Montenegro Airlines, market analysis and commercial plan, support in ensuring operational readiness as soon as possible, as well as staffing, employment, training, IT deployment, and management plans. Furthermore, Lufthansa Systems will provide support for the start of operations and coordination between the commercial and operational sectors, the efficient launch of flight operations, aircraft maintenance plan and control, crew and dispatch department plans, drafting of an efficient route network and the establishment of a competent customer support centre.

Commenting on its future cooperation with Lufthansa Systems, ToMontenegro said, “A large number of global companies, including Lufthansa, Boeing and PricewaterhouseCoopers, took part in an international tender to select the airline’s consultant. Lufthansa was chosen because of its references and work experience with dozens of global airlines with similar requirements and challenges”.
