NEWS FLASH
Flydubai has again delayed the launch of its daily service to Zagreb. Instead of May, flights are now expected to commence on September 1 and run four times per week. Zagreb and Dubai have been without a scheduled air service since March 2020. Furthermore, the hybrid carrier has suspended its planned seasonal operations to Dubrovnik for this year. Within the former Yugoslavia, Flydubai maintains flights to Belgrade and Sarajevo, and will restore its seasonal operations to Tivat on June 25. It plans to resume flights to Skopje on November 1 at the earliest.
Disaster! LH from MUC, SN and now FZ won't fly in summer to ZAG.
ReplyDeleteDon't forget TAP, Aegean and Iberia. All of them postponed ZAG this year

Tunisair cancelled ZAG
DeleteIt's called the reality of the current situation. Has this come as a shock to you?
ReplyDeleteIt's a shock because they are growing elsewhere.
DeleteOf course it is a shock. They don't do it everywhere.
DeleteInteresting that they in the meanwhile will double Sarajevo.
ReplyDeleteIncompetence of Croatian politicians/E.U. politicians is to blame for this one. Croatians won't be vaccinated until the end of the summer. That's the benchmark standard the airlines are using when making their summer plans in 2021. The same reason why Ryan is starting the majority of its operations in early September as well.
ReplyDeleteIt has little to do with politicians. Dubai is accepting visitors from all countries. All you need is a PCR test. So it does not matter if you are vaccinated or not.
DeleteZagreb never had strong local demand to Dubai. It was mostly for transfers.
DeleteI also dont expect Tivat to happen this summer ...
ReplyDeleteI don't like this guys.
ReplyDeleteZagreb did a Field of Dreams with EU money and its new airport with halls that go on forever still lack the the power that other European capitals have to become a realistic "hub" for connecting trans atlantic and other long haul flights. Look what Belgrade is doing..actually building new airports because it has decided to really invest in their future. Zagreb's airport is just nice window dressing. And attracting Ryanair? They need long haul carriers not another feeder airline. Croatia Airlines should be eating Ryan's lunch but they have been asleep for decades.
