NEWS FLASH
British Airways resumed its seasonal service between London Heathrow and Ljubljana last week, marking its return to the Slovenian capital after almost two years. The airline will maintain four weekly rotations between the two cities, each Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, until October 29, with the Airbus A320 aircraft. The Head of Airline Management at airport operator Fraport Slovenija, Janez Krašnja, said, “We are happy that one of the most popular routes among Slovenian passengers is returning to Ljubljana. We welcome stronger travel and business ties between Slovenia and Great Britain”. Slovenia is on the United Kingdom’s Green List, meaning British nationals are not required to quarantine upon their return back home from Slovenia. Low cost carrier easyJet is expected to restore flights between London Gatwick and Ljubljana on September 8. By the end of October, a total of fifteen routes are to be maintained out of Ljubljana.
Does anyone has numbers (LF) for these first flights?
ReplyDeleteHave*
DeleteI don't have official numbers, but I took the flight yesterday LJU - LHR. It was about 70% full
DeleteThanks! Were they mostly slovenians?
DeleteHard to say, I feel it was quite mixed
DeleteMine on Friday (first flight, got it for 35 euros) had some 50% LF. Many many rows with a single person by the windows
DeleteMeanwhile Skobir/Krašnja and Co. are all happy how airlines are returning with 2 flights per week, Aeroflot removed ticket sales for SVO-LJU from November.
ReplyDeleteGood for BA in LJU. What ever happened to the INI flights? I don't see them available. No demand or lack of subsidies to ASL?
ReplyDeleteThere is a global pandemic, travel demand is down and Ljubljana is one of the worst performing airports in Europe. That's what happened.
DeleteI give this BA flight not more than a month to be suspended
ReplyDeleteThey should go year round next year.
