NEWS FLASH
Portugal’s national carrier TAP has begun codesharing on Austrian Airlines’ flights between Vienna and Belgrade, Podgorica, Pristina and Sarajevo. The airline has placed its “TP” designator code and flight numbers onto its Star Alliance partner's evening services from the Austrian capital to the four cities in the former Yugoslavia. TAP has a limited presence in the region with seasonal flights to Zagreb, which it resumed this summer after several years. It previously served Belgrade for a six-month period in 2014.
I think that there are a serious demand between Lisabon to Ex yu region, and not only in summer. TAP started BEG few years ago, planes were full, and due the fleet shortage cancelled flights, and never came back. Last year Wizz Air announced Lisabon, but due Corona cancelled. I really do not why this route never materialize??
ReplyDeleteLJU, ZAG and BEG could all work.
DeleteSKP - Lisbon would also work twice a week with WizzAir Airbus A320
DeleteWhich destination wouldnt work with at least two weekly flights ?
DeleteYou can see from Zagreb airport and Ryanair example that there are many places that could work even with seemingly little traffic .
2000 indirect pax a year are enough to start flying to places like Bologna, Malaga ..
Another lost opportunity for OU. Being Star member (pardon :servant), they should have connected entire ex-yu to LIS, and on with South America. But, hey, why, older Schwester can do it, while uhljebs enjoying in sailing Adriatic, playing tennis and other more important stuff than running an airline
ReplyDeleteWell, they even don`t have connecting flights to Belgrade, which is... well, idiotic.
DeleteGuess some transfers to the west through Zagreb would make sense, but hey, those folks know better.
While I completely agree with you, I must say that it's becoming very tiring seeing your comments every single day. Constant hate on "uhljebs" and OU. Dude, chill, we get it. They suck. Either change something or leave it.
DeleteYou get me completely wrong. I don't hate uhljebs and I don't hate OU. I believe OU deserves to be much bigger and much better. And repeating it here day by day, I hope someone might react. By writing and speaking publicly I am trying to change something, exactly what you suggest. And so sorry if you are bored or annoyed by my posts, but I have no intention to stop
DeleteWhile I normally agree with Pozdrav, I don't think OU could've done much on the South American transfer market. There are plenty of one-stop options from the Balkans to South America, there would be no need to go through both ZAG and LIS in order to reach the continent.
DeleteIndeed, why go through ZAG and LIS when you could just go via FRA. Pozdrav do you really think anyone high up at OU or in government is reading your comments on here?
DeleteYou must be really deluded and naive to think that spamming OU comments in every topic will change anything.
DeleteTo Pozdrav. If you are so concerned about OU, and the lost opportunities, you should contact the politicians and the management at OU directly. I really don't think they are reading these blogs. Get direct answers from them or I guess you cannot be bothered.
DeleteIt would never change anything to adress these uhljebs personally .
DeleteOr to send them mails or anything ...
Its very naive to think of that !
Finally, a good connection between Brazil and Croatia. There is a huge Croatian diaspora there. OU becomes a bigger feeder.
ReplyDeleteLet's not exagerate.
DeleteThese codeshares are completely useless .
ReplyDeleteLisbon and Cologne are Belgrades most important unserved routes in Europe .
Still there are no direct flights with any airline.
Cologne for example is an Eurowings base, but no they just fly from Stuttgart .
I think Wizz Air announced CGN last summer but decided against it in the end when they announced the third plane this year.
DeleteI still think LIS is coming next year.
Pozdrav has every right to vent his frustration with CA. Skip his comments if you find them repetitive.
