NEWS FLASH
The construction of the new 75-metre control tower at Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport is progressing on schedule with work set to be completed by the end of this quarter. The new facility, which also includes a two-level flight control centre at its base, will become operational during the first half of 2022, once all the latest equipment fitted inside the facility is tested. The project is valued at 17.5 million euros, with a further five million invested into the purchase of new equipment. The facility stretches over an area of 7.500 square metres and has a control tower cab of 120 square metres. The existing control tower at Belgrade Airport has been in use since 1962. It will be closed upon the completion of the new facility, however, it will be up to operator SMATSA (Serbia and Montenegro Air Traffic Services Agency) to decide on its fate.
Would be nice that the old tower will be a restaurant with a 360° observation deck
ReplyDeleteThey could turn the old tower into a hotel. But there are already too many hotels at the airport.
ReplyDeleteHow would you turn it into a hotel when the space is extremely small?
DeleteCapsule hotel would work.
DeleteYeah, there would be space for about three rooms.
DeleteThe best we could hope for is a observation deck / café.
Stari Kontrolni toranj bi trebalo prosiriti u hotel sa par stotina soba. Na vrhu hotela observation deck, restoran i stalnu postavku avio memorabilije.
ReplyDeleteTo u svetu postoji odavno. Mesta za prosirenje ima u zadnjem delu i u pravcu Kargo zgrade. Da li ima volje i ambicije, pokazace vreme. ✈🌐🛫
Or central smoking area / centralna pušačka zona
DeleteBrate sto bi pušači imali bolji pogled nego recimo porodice sa decom koja su fascinirana avionima i stvarno imala nezaboravno iskustvo!?
DeleteU pravi si što se toga tiče / You are totally right regarding this
