NEWS FLASH
Zadar Airport is expected to register its busiest year on record in 2022, with a number of carriers launching new routes or increasing frequencies on existing services. The airport’s General Manager, Josip Klišmanić, said, “If the summer season begins without any major problems, this year we can expect more passengers and better financial results. Our estimate is that we will handle more travellers in 2022 than in 2019 when we had 801.347 passengers. We will see by how much”. He added, “Airline announcements so far are very good. At this point, Ryanair has 44 routes on sale from Zadar for the summer, eleven of which are brand new. Croatia Airlines won’t be far behind. We also expect a lot from Lufthansa, Eurowings and Austrian Airlines, while LOT Polish Airlines will further strengthen its operations”. Although Ryanair has delayed the launch of twelve new routes out of Zadar, moving them from late March until June, Mr Klišmanić is hopeful the ongoing fifth wave of the coronavirus pandemic will be its last and the summer season will be unaffected. Zadar Airport handled 513.093 passengers in 2021, reaching 64% of its pre-pandemic traffic.
"Croatia Airlines won’t be far behind" What on earth do OU bring to ZAD apart from a heavily subsidised daily flight to PUY and ZAG?
ReplyDeleteMy thought too!
DeleteBravo Hrvatska!
ReplyDeleteThis airport is small but compact. Everything on it is perfectly arranged.
ReplyDeleteAny words if JU will try out this summer with 1-2 weekly rotations?
ReplyDeleteApparently not -which is too bad given multiple transfer options to points east (which ZAD lacks) from Belgrade.
