Arkia to restore Belgrade operations

NEWS FLASH

Israel’s Arkia Airlines plans to restore flights between Tel Aviv and Belgrade in the coming weeks, Israel's Tourism Minister, Yoel Razvozov, said. He added that Israel hopes Air Serbia will follow suit and reintroduce operations between the two cities, which it suspended at the onset of the coronavirus pandemic in March 2020. The two countries signed an agreement on tourism cooperation last week. Arkia will resume services to the Serbian capital on April 8, with two weekly rotations.

Yeah, everyone hopes JU will relaunch TLV but they didn't give any hint what's to be expected with this route.

The market has not yet recovered so Arkia's Embraer is the perfect plane for this route. Don't forget that Arkia has been flying to Belgrade for many years now (close to 10?) and they probably have a strong brand recognition.

If I remember correctly they were the first ones to boost capacity on BEG-TLV once tourists started arriving. They sent the B753 back then.

I get it, I was just wondering why is JU so silent about returning to TLV. We have relaunch dates for almost all other paused destinations. TLV is silent, Malta is mute and Cairo's fate is at CAD's hands now.

I think segment length is a problem for TLV plus the airport is expensive and O&D market isn't massive. Arkia isn't helping either.

BEG is finally reconnecting with the Middle East: Tel Aviv, Ammann. Hopefully we get to see Cairo flights this summer and Beirut as well in the upcoming period !

With the addition of Ankara the Middle Eastern connectivity has considerably improved. Once covid passes I am sure IKA flights will come back.
