PHOTOS: Air Montenegro paints second aircraft

NEWS FLASH

Air Montenegro’s second Embraer E195 aircraft has received the carrier’s corporate livery. The jet, registered 4O-AOB, was painted within five days in Warsaw, entering commercial service with its new look last Friday, between Podgorica and Belgrade. The Air Montenegro livery was selected through an international competition, which saw over 100 design submissions. The author is Russian designer Maksim Arbuzov. The livery and the logo are based on that of the now-defunct Montenegro Airlines with added stylistic elements.

Actually Monaco keeps winning. Significantly higher tourist revenue and GDP than Montenegro yet it doesn't have own airport, airline or port able to dock large cruise ships. It doesn't have hundreds of government airline(s) employees wasting taxpayer money trying to prove national airline is necessary to support tourism. That's a win.

Maybe they would if they had space.

They can create airline with planes based at Nice airport. But why waste money like Montenegro?

Maybe if Montenegro was a taxless 2 square km principality in the French Riviera they would do the same.

They would not, it's not a location but a state of mind that's wrong. Montenegro government bureaucrat said recently the raison d'être for national airline to exist is to offer cheaper tickets. If that lower price was a result of superior productivity, newer generation/larger airplanes with lower CASK and overall lower cost base that cheap ticket would be justified. But it's not, lower price is purely political decision to attract passengers backed by nearly bankrupt government coffers. Instead of learning from Monaco and others, Montenegro is doing the opposite and calling it a win!

As someone said, the tail is very good, but the front looks like someone randomly put a sticker there

Love the livery very much (yes, that front square too - very distinctive for a change) but why did they ruin the tail on 4O-AOB? That unpainted white edge is an eye sore.
