PHOTOS: Belgrade’s expanded terminal enters into commercial use

NEWS FLASH

Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport’s expanded new terminal building has formally entered into use, with passengers having the ability to utilise the new facilities as of today. Numerous flights have been allocated one of thirteen gates located in the expanded part of the terminal building. Today also marked the start of centralised security screening at Belgrade Airport, ending over two decades of individual security checks at each gate. The centralised security, boasting seven lanes, is located in the old part of the terminal building, in front of passport control. Changes are also visible in the old piers which are being oveoverhauled to correspond to the new facilities.

Last photo seems to show unfinished doors that connect arriving passenger area with departure area. Are they going to be used for transfers? How are transfers (except for INI) organized now?

Correct, those doors are near C2 gates. Until they open it, how are international transfers getting from arrivals to departures area today?

Does anyone know how they will use terminal 1 building. Since I am not sure is there possible to build another floor to sperate passengers and also that building is unther protection, as a cultural heritage

Too many different flooring options with too many different colors and materials. This looks like several different buildings

So the "new" centralised security seems to be like in the old days, just without the extra one on the gate. I wonder if this is a permanent solution or after they build a new check-in area this will change again?
When it comes to the food/shopping options, BEG really lacks options. Not even a fast food chain like McDonald’s is there, and that’s basic thing. I hope they will do something about it.
Glad to see that the development is taking shape finally. Hope to see gates from A6-A10 get some attention.

Maybe they open Starbucks? They are opening a new shop now close to the Parliament (Три листа дувана).

    3. Yeah seen the new Starbucks while watching the bomb team at AS office.

Would be nice if BEG could get some beverage and food options, maybe even a local coffee shop chain and something except hleb & kifla.

Maybe Кафетерија could open a shop there in addition to the little cart they have.

I don't mind having more food/coffee options, but I would really like to have more options to buy domestic product. It's great souvenir and I would also like to have something for me that I cannot bring in the luggage. Serbia is country of good and quality food and drinks.

Airport website still not updated. No new internal terminal layout maps with new gates, no updates on f&b (Danube Junction is still listed as available), no diagrams/info on passenger flows except outside of terminals. Change is big enough to warrant maps/info to help passenger experience. Please.

So if I am transferring at BEG I go up and then down to the centralized security area? I go out into Serbia or do they have a special area for transfer passengers?

If you are disembarking at the new gates you use the new floor and go straight down to immigration. If using old you go down the same way as you used to.

It looks ok because it's brand new but I really don't understand the design choices.. this blue carpet with fake decking, tiles in bathroom and their size... as well as 10 different floor tiles all over the place.. looks patched up more than designed..
