NEWS FLASH
Air Serbia is celebrating its 95th anniversary with a special emblem on all of its aircraft. Positioned on the body of its planes, and with the slogan “95 years of flying”, the carrier said the emblem was designed “to combine tradition and modernity, paying homage to the rich history of the Serbian national airline”. Air Serbia will mark the 95th anniversary on June 17 with a series of commemorative activities. “An important anniversary is ahead of us, and we want to thank our glorious predecessors that founded the first national airline, Aeroput, in 1927. We are immensely proud of the fact that only several carriers in the world have a history as long as our company. That is also a great responsibility, because, as direct successors to a 95-year-long tradition, we must stay up to the task”, the carrier’s CEO, Jiri Marek, said.
Wonderful anniversary JU
ReplyDeleteVery nice.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations JU!
ReplyDeleteThey have less than 5 years to prepare for the 100th anniversary and we will all be here to see it! JU can do a lot of great things to commemorate, like giving flights on the Potez 29, the first airplane that it used in 1927, on that first route from BEG to ZAG.
ReplyDeleteMaybe JU could buy OU and they could rebrand to "Aeroput" on the 100th anniversary - becoming an airline with a fleet of 32 airplanes flying to 100 destinations!?
I will apply for CEO 😃
DeleteAnd I would hire you! 😃
DeleteThanks bro! ☺
DeleteI would too, that is, if I wanted to make my company go bankrupt in 1 week! 😃
DeleteHahahahahahaha, but you would for sure hire Jasmin , because he is so capable and successfull and OU is filling half of Croatian budget, hahahahaha
DeleteAnd I admit I don't deserve to work even in cleaning or catering, anywhere, let alone CEO position - I don't have Adeze membership booklet ☺
DeleteLet's see if OU will survive for five years first. I hope they manage to crawl out the pit they dug themselves into.
DeleteThen we can have Pozdrav as their leader.
Strange that they didn't wait another five years? Who celebrates a 95th anniversary?
ReplyDeleteKLM, Aeroflot, Qantas celebrated...list is pretty small considering JU is the 6th or 7th oldest airline in the world still operating.
DeleteThere is nothing strange. Corporate anniversaries are celebrated every 5 years. Qatar Airways is marking 25 years this year with special emblem and has painted one B777 in retro livery.
DeleteThe good old Jat Airways will be terribly missed. It is so unfortunate that the name was not kept...
ReplyDeleteAeroput name will be missed, so unfortunate that name was not kept.
DeleteWake up people. Name of the country is Serbia and flag carrier is Air Serbia.
Not missed by me, I'm so glad that brand went to garbage bin of history
DeleteDon't mistake JAT - Jugoslovenski Aerotransport
DeleteAnd Jat- Jat Airways
All the jats are in the history books now
DeleteI think a lot of people around the world will miss JAT
Delete@14:45 I meant Jat Airways and not JAT. Those were the golden years of the company and its impeccable 737s which served for decades compared to the newer ones falling from the sky.
Delete@15,44
DeleteThe Golden Years were when the company was JAT, not Jat Airways. The B737's you mentioned were purchased when it was JAT. The last time a brand new, factory fresh aircraft came was when the airline was JAT.
JAT became Jat Airways in 2003. Do share something positive between 2003 and the date the company became Air Serbia, curious to hear why you think Jat Airways was amazing.
Which newer aircraft are falling from the sky btw?

DeleteA lot of people also miss Concorde. Both will live on in Museums, history books and photos/videos. There is a difference between healthy nostalgia and obsession that Concorde/JAT will fly again.
@17:58 No. Nothing wrong about nostalgia. To understand the present, you might appreciate the past.
Delete@17:24 JatBEGMEL, the new planes falling from the sky are called Max. The classic 737 is no way on the same levels.
@18,23
DeleteThe DC10, part of JAT's fleet, had a design flaw with the cargo doors. This design flaw caused the deadliest crash in aviation history, until the Tenerife disaster took its place. The FAA also grounded the DC10 back then. Not as dramatic as the Max, but still, flying today has never been safer compared to back then.
Nice anniversaries this year. 60 years of Belgrade airport and 95 years of civil aviation. Fantastic
ReplyDeleteCivil aviation in Serbia is over 100 years old. Aeroput is 95 :)
DeleteYou mean JAT was created from Aeroput which was made with Serbian capital. You are right, we can see where JU is today and where are JP and OU.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations from the bottom of my heart on the jubilee - the first 95 years!
