NEWS FLASH
Banja Luka Airport has recorded its busiest month ever this April by handling 31.243 passengers, representing an increase of 150% on the pre-pandemic 2019. The growth is being fuelled by both Wizz Air and Ryanair, which jointly operate a total of twelve routes from Bosnia and Herzegovina’s second largest city. During the first four months of the year, Banja Luka Airport welcomed 58.932 travellers, up 51% on 2019, despite being closed for an entire month due to urgent runway repairs. Banja Luka Airport expects to handle a record 300.000 passengers this year. This summer season, Ryanair introduced a new service from Nuremberg, while Air Cairo will inaugurate year-round flights from Hurghada this Friday.
Bravo Banja Luko!
ReplyDeleteWell deserved !
DeleteTwo favorite airports in Republic of Serbska. Banja Luka and future Airport Trebinje. 😀🛫🌐✈
ReplyDelete2 favorite? How many more are there in the Serbskan Republic?
DeleteNo offense but the Trebinje Airport is going to be a fail if it ever opens.
DeleteSo was Banjaluka when it opened in the eighties.
Deletebravo za Banjaluku. Ima srednjoročno potencijal i za milion godišnje. Instabul pod hitno, barem dva puta sedmično
ReplyDeleteIf russia ever open again, route might be very busy
ReplyDeleteGreat opportunity for JU flights to Moscow.
ReplyDeleteMoscow, Istanbul, Paris, London, Athens, and Belgrade every day two flights, morning and evening
ReplyDeleteTuzla handled 100.553 in the first four months of this year, and Sarajevo handled 271.978 in the same period, while Mostar is practically defunct - only 176 passengers for the whole period of four months.
ReplyDeleteObviously Mostar airport management doesn't have a clue what to do, positioned close to Medjugorje as a pilgrims destination, also close to the sea, almost in the middle between of Split and Dubrovnik airport, and still - nothing. Good to see that Banja Luka and Tuzla are keeping their operations live, and still not hurting Sarajevo too much. Obviously there is enough demand for all airports.
Somehow I lost my first line of the previous comment before starting stats of other airports: Great recovery from last year, Jan-Apr 2021 total number of passengers was just 1885, now for the first four months 58.932.
