NEWS FLASH
Pristina Airport registered its busiest June by handling 261.013 passengers. The figure represents an increase of 24.8% on the pre-pandemic 2019 and 48.2% on last year. During the first half of 2022, the airport welcomed 1.326.132 travellers through its doors, up 25.1% on 2019, or an additional 265.705 customers. Over the January - June period, Pristina Airport retained its position as the second busiest airport in the former Yugoslavia.
Bravo Pristina!
ReplyDeleteSkopje and especially Ljubljana will probably never reach those levels now.
ReplyDeleteHaving in mind the size of the market, the numbers are really fantastic. Knowing that business and tourist activities are at a very low level on Kosovo, lead me to a conclusion that Kosovo is practically half empty, as a bunch of their citizens live abroad.
ReplyDeleteAmazing conclusion. Truly ingenious.
DeleteMass emigration out of the country is a big issue. However, in terms of tourists since last year that has been a growing presence of Saudi tourists who have come due to the direct flights to Tirana and they take the short drive up to Kosovo.
DeleteNever in Prishtina saw a Saudi turist... somehow the fact that Pristina airport is successful it hurting to many feeling. Some comment are just sad.
Delete^ Peja and Prizren are full of them in the summer months. Prishtina has less but this summer I have seen them as well. A quick look on the Snapchat map will show you their stories.
DeleteLet's take as true what you said, that I don't belive at all. Might be a small number, by mentioning they are using Tirana Airport, what is the relevance with Pristina Airport. Prishtina Airport will have the buissies year ever coming close to 3 millions or even more. These are almost no free seat to PRN now for summer season. Having here in mind that there is Manifesta biennale and Sunny Hill festival this year, plus 3-4 other festivals and sporting events. Lats year only July and August had more than 800 000 passangers.
DeleteAnonymous18:07. This has nothing to do with reality. A couple of dozens of them have visited Kosovo.. Plus, it has nothing to do with PRN!
DeleteZagreb will be second busiest from next month.
ReplyDeleteAnd maybe SPU will be ahead of PRN at the end of 2022 as well
DeleteMost likely, SPU should have at least 2.7 million this year
Delete*Prishtina*: “Hold my beer.”
ReplyDeleteCheers Pristina! 🍻
