NEWS FLASH
Flydubai will increase operations between Dubai and Ljubljana to daily flights this coming winter season, on the back of the successful launch of the route last September. The daily rotations will commence on December 22 and will continue to run throughout the summer. Until mid-December, the carrier will maintain five weekly flights to the Slovenian capital. Flydubai handled 20.507 passengers on the route during the first half of the year.
They even have 2nd daily on some days in October (mainly for autumn vacation) so I guess numbers do look good for them.
ReplyDeleteExcited for the future development, 10 weekly flights is surely something Slovenia can manage when Asia reopens
I just wish FZ would have A320's family as a fleet. So much better for cargo, much less restrictions.
DeleteWhen Flydubai launched LJU flights some guys joked that soon after Emirates will take over with B777s. It’s funny that this seems closer everyday even though it was a joke
DeleteI'm certain that when 787s arrive Ljubljana will be on the destination list, cargo demand is huge thus even if flying only at half pax capacity the profits will be there-similar to Turkish and 330s flights
DeleteObviously there is hunger for flights to the Gulf and QR are sleeping while FZ quietly steal their clients.
ReplyDeleteImpressive that they went from launching the route to daily in a year and a bit.
ReplyDeleteKinda funny that people were saying that there is no demand, but zagreb is the one getting cut
Everyone that has lived and worked extensively in ex-YU countries knows that outbound demand from SLO outstrips the one from CRO, despite the difference in population. Slovenes have the travel bug just like Serbs.

DeleteAbsolutely agree.
Even if that is truth, Croatia is 6th by number of tourist and 16th in the World.
Deleteits not even in top 10 in europe. please check your data.
DeleteWhat about Zagreb?
ReplyDeleteIt's not being increased
DeleteFor now it stays at 4 weekly.
DeleteIsn't LJU too far for B737 from DXB like some said?
ReplyDeleteNo demand too, as you can clearly see
DeleteAlso where is that guy who claimed there will be exactly 3700 passengers per year and 5 passengers per flight? Where did the other 17.000 came from (and even than in 6 months)?
DeleteIt’s 6 block hours only. So well within MAX reach and comfort. Helsinki used to be 7+ with previous Bangkok at times westbound at over 8hrs. And unrestricted.
DeleteWow well done LJU and FZ.
ReplyDeleteIf ryanair base a plane in LJ we will see same story as with flydubai ... even now ppl are talking about potential ryanair flights like crazy ...
ReplyDeleteWhat would their LF be?
ReplyDeleteAccording to fanboys flydubai LF on DXB-LJU is 3%
DeleteI was genuinely asking
DeleteI think it was around 60-65% at the beginning of the year.
DeleteIs that even sustainable? I guess it should be above 70-75%?
DeleteWhat about SKP?
ReplyDeleteEmirates will announce daily A380 service very soon.
DeleteYou're wrong Anon 20.56, In a few days they will have double daily A380 to DXB because of the huge demand for Australia
