NEWS FLASH
Low cost carrier Wizz Air will launch a new two weekly service from London Luton Airport to Podgorica, replacing its existing operations from Gatwick to the Montenegrin capital. Services are to commence on November 2 and run twice per week. As a result, Podgorica will be linked to two of London’s airports with Ryanair maintaining operations to Stansted. Further details for the new Luton - Podgorica route can be viewed here.
Montenegro keeps winning!
ReplyDeleteEven TGD will have more flights and more airports connected to London than LJU. When will Fraport stop sleeping. Or when will they sell the airport operator to more competent people? That would be the best solution for LJU.
ReplyDeleteWhy are you making this article about LJU? This post has nothing about LJU, please stick to Podgorica or just skip commenting
DeleteThe 20+ other airports that Fraport manages are seem to be doing fine. The Greek in particular are breaking new records each month.
DeleteCould the performance of LJU be more related to the Slovenian market instead of the airport operator?
Fraport is doing absolutely nothing, or you are just blind that you don't see it.
DeleteThe government it self is doing nothing. It is very easy to blame others. Since the collapse of Adria, they did nothing to improve the connectivity with europe. They are just waiting for carriers to come and open new routes and plus they are choosing which carriers can and which cant launch route. They rather have lufthansa with three daily flights then some lcc to open a base and offer at least 6 daily flights to some 12 routes. Even Tuzla, Banja Luka, Nis and Ohrid have better connectivity then LJU.
DeleteThey are loosing many passengers which travel from Zagreb, Trieste and Treviso with lcc cuz from LJU u can only fly to the main European destionations. Even though most of the airlines offer connection, still its not the same. When adria was flying, LJU had more passengers only because of Skopje, Tirana, Pristina and Sarajevo as most of the passengers were transit via LJU.
DeleteThere are no winter flights from Gatwick with Wizz Air.
ReplyDeleteThey just removed the LGW flight in the last few minutes.
DeleteThey have removed them at least half and hour ago. Maybe Wizz Air plans to have more operations from LTN during the winter then Gatwick. Makes sence as they have strong competition at both airports.

DeleteGatwick is a seasonal only route, luckily they’re going to connect TGD with LTN during the winter time.
DeleteGatwick used to be year round.
