Air Serbia and Croatia Airlines have been named among Eastern Europe's best carriers at the annual World Airline Awards, hosted by Skytrax. For the sixth time, the two largest carriers from the former Yugoslavia have been featured among the best in the category, while Air Serbia has also been named among Europe’s top regional airlines, world's most improved carriers and within the top 100 best airlines in the world.
The Serbian carrier was voted Eastern Europe’s third best, behind airBaltic and LOT Polish Airlines, while Croatia Airlines placed sixth, proceeding Wizz Air and CSA Czech Airlines. Air Serbia was also named the third best regional airline in Europe, behind Aegean Airlines and Air Malta. Furthermore, it came eighth in the category of the most improved airlines in the world, and was ranked as the world’s 92nd best airline overall, ahead of the likes of ITA Airways, Egypt Air and China Eastern Airlines.
The World Airline Awards, described as "the Oscars of the aviation industry", are the most coveted quality accolades for the world airline industry and a global benchmark of airline excellence handed out based on passenger experience. The 2022 awards are based on a customer survey period from September 2021 to August 2022. A total of 13.42 million eligible customer surveys were completed, across a range of topics, resulting in the awards for airline of the year, together with regional and best airline awards. All entries are screened to identify each IP / user information, with duplicate or ineligible entries deleted. The awards are said to be 100% independent with no payment by any airline or other outside organisation for any aspect of the customer survey or awards presentation event. Over 100 different nationalities participated in the customer satisfaction survey. The surveys measure standards across 49 key performance indicators of airline front-line product and service.
Qatar Airways was named the world’s best airline for a record seventh consecutive time, while Air France came out on top in Europe. Gulf Air was recognised as being the world’s most improved carrier.

Now please look at Google map and tell me how Croatia Airlines, no matter what my opinion of the airline is, could be Eastern Europe as well. The easternmost and the westernmost points of Czech Republic and Croatia are identical. Furthermore, Croatia, together with MNE and AL, is squeezed between Italy and Greece. How the hell location between Italy and Greece could be Eastern Europe? Not to mention recent history of Croatia, and entire Yugoslavia, which was not in the Eastern Block, had open borders, good living standard, market economy and so on. ReplyDeleteThat hotline and mail customer sevice is horrifying, you better pray to God to close your case and receive money back within 12 months. It has to be way more efficient and customer-friendly. If you can't improve it, then hire more people, increase that damn low wages, don't spare on your customer service cuz sometimes they're equally important as the other staff.
This shows us that lots of problems come directly from their cringe management that simply doesn't care about anything and spend state money just like that. Hopefully their CEO is aware of this problem.
Incompetent management, nepotism, payment gap and bad customer service are JU's biggest issues.
O wrote to their call center 5x with a question regarding access (payable) to the JU BEG lounge and still no answer. Horrible service indeed!

Anon 12:39: Family member lost checked bag in transit through Munich about a month ago flying with Lufthansa. LH hotline gives exacty the same info as the bag tracker website - no info, and then just repeating scripted response, every single time. Completely useless LH hotline. Should I now conclude based on that horrible experience that "their CEO is aware of this problem. Incompetent management, nepotism, payment gap and bad customer service are LH's biggest issues"?????

Well it depends on the criteria for choosing "the best", there's no match of fleet size with Wizz Air, it size matters.
