Flydubai sees steady growth on Zagreb service

NEWS FLASH

Flydubai restored operations between Dubai and Zagreb in September 2021 after a two-year hiatus. Since then, the airline has seen its passenger numbers steadily grow on the route. It handled 36.809 travellers between the two cities during the first three quarter of the year, representing a decrease of 63.8% compared to the same period in 2019. However, back then Emirates maintained seasonal operations to the Croatian capital with its Boeing 777 aircraft. Flydubai currently runs four weekly flights between the two cities. Emirates has previously said it is considering restoring operations to Zagreb.

    So they struggled with overcapacity.

What is interesting is that during the same period, Flydubai had just 3000 passengers less on the Ljubljana route based on the stats from here https://www.exyuaviation.com/2022/11/lufthansa-asserts-dominance-in-ljubljana.html

Goes to show that people who claimed Slovenes made up 50% of the passengers on EK were right.

    2. Please give me a break @An.12.02. 80 % of passengers on EK were Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Indian, Australian. 10 % each were Croatian and Slovenian. 60 % lower numbers now mean that we still have those 10 % of croatians from ZAG and 10 % of slovenes from LJU, plus 10 % of foreigners on each airports flights. Very simple. I never said there were no slovenes in ZAG, of course they used EK in relatively big numbers, but 50 % on 400 seater daily, please, com'n, try to be serious and think of what you write about

Yes but look how FZ does well in LJU, almost as good as ZAG!

I think its mostly p2p passengers from Slovenia atm. cuz tranfer times are not good. Turkish is always better option. and i see flydubai is working closely with local tourist agencies promoting Dubai as weekly getaway destination.

Some will never admit that slovenes contribute a lot to ZAG's traffic results. Instead of being happy that Slovenes raise their numbers and bring the money. Who would understand this haha.

    6. And there are some who repeatedly admit big number of Slovenes in ZAG, ex-EK included, but just oppose those exaggerating with 50 %

Always when I fly with Qatar from Zagreb I see many Slovenes on the flight, but their participation is not like 50% or more than Croats. Anyway, I'm happy that our good neighbors fly from Zagreb.

Anon 10:46 And this is despite the additional no. of flights operated to LJU. The saga with FZ performing better at LJU than ZAG is finally enlightened (it was illogic from the beginning but anyway).

Comparing to BEG these numbers are quite low.

So EK/FZ fly to majority of balkan countries yet SKP is missing out! Good on the good numbers for the rest of the Balkan penninsula, awesome and encouraging results, but what does it say about MKD government? FZ used to fly to SKP and now nothing....
