NEWS FLASH
Croatia Airlines celebrated three decades of flying between Zagreb and Vienna this Tuesday. On January 17, 1993, the Croatian carrier inaugurated the service, with the airline now maintaining two daily rotations between the two capitals. “Croatia Airlines has been offering flights from Vienna to Croatia for thirty years. Currently, they operate a total of fourteen flights per week. This flight connection strengths the close tourism connection between Austria and Croatia and Vienna’s role as an international hub. Joining the Schengen zone will simplify the journey for passengers flying via Vienna Airport on flights from and to Croatia in the near future. I am pleased about this decision which strengthens the freedom of travel within Europe,” the joint CEO and COO of Vienna Airport, Julian Jager, said. Croatia Airlines’ Area Manager for Central Europe, Mato Radić, noted, “I am pleased that we are celebrating the thirtieth anniversary on the Vienna - Zagreb route and would like to warmly thank our partners at Vienna Airport for the high-quality collaboration which has existed over the past three decades. The Austrian market is a very important one for Croatia Airlines. This cooperation enables our passengers to benefit from suitable transfer options to destinations throughout the entire world when they arrive at Vienna Airport. At the same time, we also offer the fastest connection from Vienna to Croatia for passengers from Austria all year long”.
Using spare a319? Do they have problem with their a319 fleet?
ReplyDeleteIt is an A320
DeleteMight have because of the Star Alliance livery to show prestige
DeleteOU and prestige?
DeleteHahahaha
Of course they are prestigious. You haven't read they have "Aerea manager for Central Europe"?
DeleteThat's actually the most important data in the text. It shows how big, strong, developed, structured, organized and manned they are. And this guy Mato is no doubt not an Uhljeb but one of the top experts in his field, worldwide. I mean their results speak for them, nothing else is needed.
Bravo Hrvatska!
ReplyDeleteI flew on Sep 30, last year VIE-ZAG. There were simultaneous departures of OS and OU to ZAG, within few minutes. OS was full, full, full, over 100 pax. On OU, we were THIRTEEN (13). Few days ago, I flew MUC-RJK. We were TEN (10) pax on board. Bravo indeed!
DeleteIt happens, just one flight doesn't tell anything.
DeleteIt's not it happens, it's regular situation. Their LF of just over 60 %, if even that much as time passes, the worst in Europe, officialy reported, says everything, if my two flights don't tell anything.
DeleteOnly time I flew with OU was back in 2020 from Zagreb to Dubrovnik + return. It was always full. I think OU could be a really nice airline. It does look really nice and their staff are great. It does have this prestigious touch, but I totally agree that Management ist bad and there is no strategy. Would be nice if state would change complete Management or sell the company. Potential is there.
DeleteThis sounds like something that would have been published in the Pravda sometimes in the sixties...
ReplyDeleteJust missing a high-ranking party apparatchik to cut the ribbon and do a rousing speech.
DeleteArea manager sitting on two chairs with one butt, simultaneously; Dubrovnik Frankfurt.

Is this the first Croatia A320 family with Sharklets? funny that
ReplyDeleteThere was a whole article about it last year when they leased the plane. It is a so called "reserve" plane. Flies when another is out of service. What is funny is that it is 10 times more comfortable than OU's other planes as it has TAP seats.
Deletethis route is well served by rail maybe it shouldn't be going for another 30
ReplyDeleteNo, VIE-ZAG is definitely NOT well serviced by rail. Check the timetables before posting. Greetings from Vienna.
DeleteWhat a joke! Like everything else having to do with the government in Croatia.
ReplyDeleteI dont know the loadfactor. I had a roundtrip planned VIE-ZAG-VIE for this weekend. OU was arround 380, OS 290, I ended up going with flixbus for 40 euros. All prices no luggage cheapest ticket.
