NEWS FLASH
Tuzla Airport handled more passengers than the traditionally busier Ljubljana in January. Bosnia and Herzegovina’s second largest airport welcomed 58.304 travellers through its doors, compared to Ljubljana Airport’s 57.912. Tuzla Airport was also close to overtaking Sarajevo during the month, with the latter having handled 61.068 travellers. January 2023 marks Tuzla Airport's busiest start to the year on record. The figure is up 149.5% on last year and up 65.7% on the pre-pandemic January of 2020.
That moment you realize you hit rock bottom...
ReplyDeleteKudos Fraport on a job well done. And before you blame pandemic and fall of Adria, Tuzla Airport had barely 35,000 passengers in January 2020.
ReplyDeleteBanja Luka will overtake LJU next.
ReplyDeletelol sure. LJU has over 100k in summer season
DeletePeople were saying LOL for Tuzla too.
Deletesame goes for Tuzla they will not have 100k in summer season
DeleteComparing those airports is out of any logic
ReplyDeleteNot at all. A second tier airport which would be considered a village by European standards had more passengers than a capital city in the European Union.
Deletewell the rise of Tuzla and BNX is mainly because of mass exodus from the country
DeleteYes but that EU capital city (Ljubljana) have 270 000 citizens and village Tuzla 445 000. 🤣
DeleteThis guy really said that Tuzla has 445 000. Bullsh*t you read here sometimes..
Delete@17;58 please, metro Ljubljana has 450.000 people, but that is not the point. The real question is how many potential pax both airports may have (catchment area).
DeleteAnonymous 18:25 actually Tuzla Canton. But this airport is not even in Tuzla. It is im Živinice. While region gravitate toward this airport.
DeleteIn the end point is that a Ljubljana is not bigger market. So, comparing Tuzla with the village and a Ljubljana with some big EU city is a realy bulshit what you can read here. In the end stats are speaking for themselves.
DeleteBy the way I wish to Ljubljana Airport all the best. I hope it will find way to deal with this decrease of traffic.
Deletewhere are the no-legacies trolls ?
ReplyDeleteKakva sramota za LJU
ReplyDeleteIts 2024 and Portoroz overtakes Lju in January and February despite having no flights scheduled at all.
ReplyDeleteAnd people were talking about Lju having around 1.3 mil passengers at the end of the year
ReplyDeletewhy not? their jan figures are up 54% compared to last year.
DeleteAnd what is with that 16 mils for subsidies? Didn't heard anything about that since January
ReplyDeleteThis makes so much sense, tourism is booming in Tuzla and the economy is doing exceptionally well.
ReplyDeletesee @14.26
Delete@15.12 no and no
DeleteVery bad month for LJU, if they want to have 1.3 million in 2023 they need to have at least 80k in winter months
ReplyDeletethey had half of this last year and still end with nearly a million. so 1.3 is totally doable.
DeleteSlow clap for LJU.
ReplyDeleteFunniest article ever 😄
ReplyDeleteAdmin, comparison articles like this one are good because they show also show how regional airports are performing and not only bigger capitals. Tuzla has a good mix of Ryanair and Wizzair.
ReplyDeletePresence of Ryanair in TZL is not high. Only 3 routes with 2 the same like by Wizz.
Deletelets assume LJU catchment area of at least citizens of its country, Slovenia so 2mil, and catchment area of TZL being roughly 1mil, (other mil to BNX, rest of BiH to SJJ). Let's also take into account buying power of average Slovenian citizen and average Bosnian citizen. Let's also take into account Slovenia part of EU/NATO/Schengen so ease of travel plus frequent travel to Brussels by politicians. Sure Bosnian diaspora, but Slovenians travel for tourism purposes en masse twice a year. Having said all that it is a victory for TZL and poor result for LJU.
ReplyDeleteOh wow victory! Kindergarten
DeleteVicotry? Slovenians have not fled their homes to work on the construction site in Stockholm so they can travel with Wizzair back to Bosnia and increase the numbers of a provincial airport.. Victory indeed.
DeleteGasterbajters....
