Wizz Air to restore London - Sarajevo service

NEWS FLASH

Low cost carrier Wizz Air plans to restore flights between London Luton and Sarajevo this September. The airline discontinued operations between the two cities last month. The budget carrier now plans to fly between the two capitals twice per week from September 25, each Monday and Friday. Wizz Air, which shut its Sarajevo base last November, operates only one other route from Sarajevo, with its offshoot in the United Arab Emirates maintaining flights to Abu Dhabi. Tickets for the Luton - Sarajevo service can now be purchased through the airline’s website.

Nice! Happy it's coming back but why suspend flights during the busiest time of year?

Yeah literally. I would say that every flight to London had 90% LF at least so I dont know why did they cancel it at all. But considering its wizz thats normal for them...

Simply because there are more profitable routes to operate during the summer months. Most of these Wizz non-holiday routes re-open during the fall as they have spare planes to reallocate.

Fuck this airline, I don’t trust them one bit. Would rather fly LHR-VIE-SJJ with Austrian than direct from LTN with them. I hope that the real reason they are bringing this back is because Ryanair or EasyJet are on the verge of launching LON-SJJ, I would fly them over wizz any day, even if it is more expensive.

Wizz is seemingly opening routes via lottery based system - why would one suspend flights during the summer?

Because it can use the aircraft and its crews to fly more profitable routes to Ibiza, Santorini, Dubrovnik etc.

At least it is coming back although it's very sad we won't have a direct flight to Sarajevo this summer😞
I was very disappointed when they announced its stopping...hope it sustains this time round. Its not easy to change flights with kids...direct line was fantastic

Hope this still means Ryanair will link with SJJ and that this relaunch isnt the news many were waiting on.

I flew on the last flight before they cancelled the route and I didn’t see a single spare seat. I heard many English accents around Sarajevo in the following days so it makes so much sense to bring it back. Good for the tourist and the Bosnian community in England
