Air Serbia and Spain’s Air Europa have strengthened their codeshare partnership to offer greater connectivity for passengers. According to the “AeroRoutes” portal, Air Serbia has placed its designator code and flight numbers onto Air Europa’s services from Madrid to Bilbao and Las Palmas on the Canary Islands, as well as from Palma to Alicante and Bilbao. It complements existing codeshares from Madrid to Asturias, Bilbao, Ibiza, Lisbon, Palma, Seville, Tenerife North and Vigo, as well as from Barcelona to Madrid and Palma. Air Serbia has expanded its operations to Spain in recent months and now maintains flights from Belgrade to Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, Malaga and Palma. Air Serbia and Air Europa first inked a codeshare agreement back in 2019. The Spanish carrier codeshares on Air Serbia’s flights between Belgrade, Madrid and Barcelona.
Nice. Gives insight into Air Serbia's potential next Spanish destination.
ReplyDeleteDo you mean JU plans to start flying to Bilbao or Canary Islands? Would be great.
DeleteI hope not .
DeleteI prefer daily to Madrid instead twice a week to every Spanish provincial town ..
Both things would make sense. Bilbao can get traffic from several nearby regions (Asturias, Cantabria, Navarra, La Rioja, Zaragoza...), just a 2-3 hour drive. Even French Basque Country. Actually many people fly to BEG from BIO, with LU via Frankfurt or Munich.
DeleteIsn't Air Europa merging with Iberia?
ReplyDeleteYes and it’s interesting that JU seems to be strengthening ties with Oneworld airlines. Only pity in that regard is that BA don’t fly to BEG and a transit visa is required for Serbian citizens through LHR. That is in my eyes a big obstacle to JU joining either oneworld connect or joining as a full member.
Delete"a transit visa is required for Serbian citizens through LHR"
DeleteNot if you're connecting onto US/Canada-bound flights with a valid visa for those countries. Which is probably the majority of traffic that would connect through LHR.
Oh thanks I thought the UK required a transit visa, I stand corrected on that point then.
DeleteThey do, it's just that there are significant exceptions :)
